Just How Raw Do You Wanna Get?


In my writings, I usually tell how I got on the path for better health and how quickly I found it. What I have to share here with you is no different. It took a friend getting sick and subsequently dying to make me a seeker. A seeker not out of fear but because we found out so much before he died. He almost won his fight against lung cancer. He did not want standard treatment of cutting, burning and poisoning that has been the normal medical model for the last 100 years. I am not a medical doctor and I am not going to get into it any farther.

What we did find is that, "you are what you eat." is very close to the truth. Surprise! Surprise! I also found out that sugar is cancer food. What is even more eye opening is that one of the tests or scans, the medical people use to find and measure cancer in your body, is a PET scan. I know nothing about it except they have you drink "sugar glop" that is slightly radioactive and then scan or map your body to see where that sugar is clustered and there is the cancer, voilà! Cancer loves sugar.

So...here are the main categories of foods that are available to us.

          1.)  Raw Vegan foods (fruits, seeds, nuts, sprouts and vegetables (these are very alkaline and the opposite of acidic foods)

           2.) Dairy Products (produce some acid in the body when digested)

           3.) Protein, from animals (produce some acid in the body when eaten as the main food choice)

           4.) Starches (things from refined processed flour-cereals, breads, pastas and white rice) (these are very acidic, not good)

           5.) Sugar and sweeteners, bakery things, cakes, cookies, candy and soft drinks (the worst  thing you can do to yourself with out a gun)

Is the picture starting to come into focus? If you have what it takes to eliminate or drastically reduce the last two acid producing food classifications, you will probably live a long, long disease free life. Our bodies are God given healing machines but only if we keep them slightly alkaline. Even if you break your leg, the doctor can set it and put a cast on your it, but he can not do a thing to make that leg heal. That is up to your wonderfully made body to do that. 

When I first looked at the foods listed in categories 4 and 5 my first thought was, "I live on that stuff, I'll die if I have to give all that up." Two things come immediately to mind. Number one, you won't die and number two, when the health benefits start showing up, you will be inspired. You can actually change your taste in 30 days. Stay heavy on the vegetables and raw is better. Your most favorite things can become distant memories if you want to change. I think the key here, is to be aggressive in changing what are self destructive, acidic food choices, and that is exactly what they are, choices. So are your sore joints and your high blood sugar and high blood pressure, they are diet, weight and exercise choices.  Ouch! somebody just threw something, "Hey!, I just report the news." You know you don't just catch diabetes in the elevator. And before you say that, "it runs in the family", it may, but that would be a family that also made poor diet choices. 98% of the time you have to cause it. You have to eat too much of the wrong foods, plenty of sodas, snacks, pasta and no exercise. That is how you "catch it". By the way that is also how you "un-catch it".  Diabetes is usually very reversible, with good food , weight reduction and lots of exercise, or,  just take a million dollars worth of pills and doctor visits, the rest of your shorter life.

The condensed version of all this is that starches, processed foods, sugary sweets, produce more acid than your body can get rid of. This acidic condition opens the back door for many chronic conditions, if your lucky, or some fatal ones if you aren't lucky. Cancer thrives in an acid environment and can not live in a alkaline body. Drink alkaline water, lots of it and eat alkaline foods. Don't feed these diseases the sugar (acid) they need.
